Oi oi!
We’re getting posh with a new email software (swit swoo). From now on, our emails will be hosted on our website so you can access them any time.
Here are the posts I wrote a while back, I’ll continue to update as I think they need it.
Now to the good stuff (cash)…
🤑💰Here's 3 top (top) PQE 0 jobs this week
Perfect for: Someone interested in jumping into a high challenge, high growth role out of their contract
The second sentence of this spec says “The company is in growth mode”. As you read on, it says you’ll be reporting to the CFO and that there’s plenty of room for strategic input. My experience tells me that most people out of contracts want either a handy number with good cash and a big team (to focus on other hobbies/family/enjoying life after contract slog) and those who are just getting started and want a big job that will be challenging but push them even further up the proverbial ladder. This job is for the latter.
My read of this is that they are a small team, and now that they’ve grown a bit the CFO wants out of the day to day running. That’s what the job spec says. It’s a list of things I wanted to get rid of from my life when I was in that position. That’s not necessarily a bad thing for you, in most cases it’s quite good if you fancy working by yourself for one person on challenging tasks.
Perfect for: Someone who wants to travel and keep a good job
Darwin Hawkins have been trying to fill this job for as long as you’ve been alive! Not really but I love Amsterdam and when we started this newsletter about 16 newsletters ago, it was one we featured early. For anyone looking to travel, it’s a very cool city and the job doesn’t look bad either.
Perfect for: Someone looking for a decent normal job out of their contract that lives in Kildare anyway
I was chatting to a few mates yesterday who said everyone is commuting into work in Dublin because of rent costs… crazy. When we started work I was getting €21,500 on a 3.5 year with a big 4 firm. Rent was €475 at the time but I was netting €1605ish so it was still tough. I have no idea how current people afford Dublin even with the increase in cash… ANYWAY - this job was featured yesterday and looks solid. Good cash (no messing around at a lower rate), decent job spec and as solid as it goes.
